Captain Jeff Moorman grew up living directly on St. Andrews Bay, fishing, floundering, crabbing, and oystering.
His love and talent for fishing was evident at an early age, and as a teen Jeff worked as a mate for legendary local fishermen:
Harold Lee, Buster Niquet, Sandy Ware, Leroy Parish, Bob Miley, Buck Archer, Billy Archer, and Ed Maulding.
An accomplished fisherman, Jeff prefers to light tackle fish in the bay most of the year.
In April, he targets Cobia only, in the shallow clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
From June 25th to Aug. 5th, he targets tarpon only, 100 lbs. plus, in the crystal clear gulf waters
about 5 to 8 feet deep.
The remaining months of the year Jeff targets trout, redfish, flounder, shark, sheephead, spanish mackerel,
and blue fish with live bait.
Excellent fishing for different species is available year round on the First Light.
First Light is a 22 foot Cape Horn Bay Series boat with a tower for added height when sight fishing.

Jeff has been featured in Sport Fishing Magazine TV, Georgia Outdoor Adventures TV, The Outdoor Life Network,
and the Sunshine Network. Jeff has also been featured in Florida Sportsman Magazine, Shallow Water Angler Magazine,
and Field and Stream Magazine. Jeff has won and placed in too many tournaments to list.
